WE ARE

MAP-COLLECTIVE

Our history

Founded in January 2020, Map Collective was created to address a core gap in how organizations understand supply chains in the context of climate, resource constraints, and geopolitical risk. With a background in digital media and urban design from the Rhode Island School of Design, founder and CEO Tara Gupta approached supply chain management as a systems design challenge, prioritizing visibility, accessibility, and decision readiness. Early work focused on intuitive tools for navigating sustainability and resource challenges, including engagements with the County of Maui and Curaleaf. In 2021, Map Collective received National Science Foundation SBIR funding to research environmental and emissions tracking across value chains, which revealed a critical limitation across industries: the lack of reliable data beyond Tier 1 suppliers. This insight shaped the company’s trajectory. In 2023, following NSF Phase II funding, Isaac Hicks joined as CTO and led the development of Map Collective’s proprietary agentic AI architecture, enabling scalable primary data collection and validation across multi tier supply chains. In 2025, Map Collective raised a pre-seed round led by B Ventures to scale it's proprietary technology, and John Loveland joined as Chief Operating Officer to support enterprise and government scale deployments. In 2026, advisors Kate Jones and Kelly Anderson joined the company, strengthening strategic guidance across sustainability, operations, and enterprise adoption. Today, Map Collective is an enterprise grade supply chain intelligence platform serving deep operational and compliance needs across Auto OEMs, complex manufacturing supply chains, and the Department of Warfighter, delivering multi tier visibility, risk quantification, and compliance automation in increasingly constrained and volatile environments.

The Map Collective team is founded on its talent.

Each leader in the Map Collective executive suite and advisory board bring a unique wealth of experience and ideas to the table, benefitting from our collaboration-first approach, making our sum greater than our parts.
